| Medical Certificate in the form 086-U | Confirms general health status and professional suitability. Required for all students. Includes examinations by a therapist, surgeon, neurologist, ophthalmologist, and otolaryngologist. |
| Medical assessment of a chest X-ray performed in Russia | Must be taken no more than 6 months before move-in. |
| HIV Negative Certificate | Official certificate confirming a negative HIV test result (valid for 3 months). |
| Vaccination Certificate | Records of vaccinations (diphtheria, tetanus, rubella, mumps, measles, polio, hepatitis B, tuberculosis, etc.) |
Important: All medical documents must be translated into Russian and notarised. International students should undergo their medical examinations either in their home country (with subsequent notarised translation) or in Russia upon arrival.
Voluntary Health Insurance (DMS) Options
What is DMS and Why is it Required?
Voluntary Health Insurance (DMS) is a mandatory document for all international students in Russia. Without a valid DMS policy, you cannot:
- Obtain or extend migration registration
- Move into the dormitory
- Extend your student visa
- Access non-emergency medical care (only emergency ambulance services are free)
Where to Obtain DMS (Online Options)
Option 1: Through the Gosuslugi Portal (Online)
- Log in to gosuslugi.ru using your confirmed account
- Navigate to the «For Foreign Citizens» section and select «Apply for DMS»
- Fill out the online application with your personal details
- Upload scanned copies of your passport (with notarised translation) and migration card
- Pay online and receive the policy electronically
Option 2: Through Insurance Companies (Online or In-Person)
Important Notes
- DMS policies must be renewed annuallyfor the entire duration of your studies
- Emergency ambulance services are free for everyone; all other medical care requires a valid DMS policy
- Citizens of the Republic of Belarusare exempt from the DMS requirement due to bilateral agreements
